CCs are adult live-in campus staff that serve as students' and families' first point of contact for their time at NCSSM., They also serve as first responders for emergencies. CCs build community on their halls through fun, wellness, and educational activities. They provide one-on-one support to students with personal counseling, by connecting them to resources, and by mediating conflict.

Hey there! My name is Vee (they/them), I grew up in Bay Area, CA, I studied Environmental Science at Mills College, and made my way to Asheville, NC in 2019 where I fell in love with gardening and the Appalachian Mountains. I am passionate about mental and emotional wellness including embodied practices and self exploration through art. I'm excited to bring those passions along with my interests in gardening, dance, and jewelry making to our hall. When I'm not working I'm probably swimming in the Eno River or hanging out with my cats!
I'm in my third year at NCSSM and also serve as the RLA Coordinator. I look forward to building our hall community and supporting students as they navigate challenges, transitions, and accomplishments during their time at NCSSM. Hi 2B!!!! My name is Mia (she/her) and im so excited to be one of your RLAS this year!! before moving to Durham I lived in Asheville (one of my favorite places to hike and catch sunsets😋). I love to bake and cook and find yummy food in Durham, run and play pickle and spikeball 😜 . I’m so excited to meet and get to know everyone this year and for the hall memes and karaoke nights 💜

Hey 2B!! My name is Katie (she/her) and I’m so happy to be one of your RLAs this year!!🥳 I’m from a small town called Red Springs, NC. I love hanging out with my friends, baking, crafts, dancing and exploring new places!💃 I also love listening to music/podcasts and binge watching movies and shows (especially gilmore girls📚). I can’t wait to meet you all!!

Hii 2B!! My name is Monserrat Castrejon (She/Her) and I am so excited to be one of your RLAs this year! I am from Red Springs North Carolina though I grew up in Georgia. Outside of 2B you can find me exploring new places in Durham🗺️, hanging out with friends💗, and listening to good music🎤🎧 (The Marias, Megan Moroney, and Bad Bunby are my current favorites).
