CCs are adult live-in campus staff that serve as students' and families' first point of contact for their time at NCSSM., They also serve as first responders for emergencies. CCs build community on their halls through fun, wellness, and educational activities. They provide one-on-one support to students with personal counseling, by connecting them to resources, and by mediating conflict.

RLAs are senior students that provide leadership, advice, and support for students on hall. They also help with the day to day running of the hall by taking check, checking housekeeping, and hosting community building activities.
